DOYLESTOWN – Barbara Hajek, age 84, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2018. 

Born on October 27, 1933 in Parkersburg, WV to the late John and Hazel (Shields) Bolen, she was a life resident of Doylestown and spent a period of time in Crystal River, FL with her son  Jim, and daughter and granddaughter, Barbara and Ana. Barbara worked in retail management and had taught for many years as a substitute teacher working with special education children. A member of Southwest Church of Christ, Barbara loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren, attending all their sporting events.  She enjoyed having fun, watching her game shows, and playing penny slot machines at her favorite casinos.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph in 1981; son, Joseph R.; brothers, Jack and Ira Bolen; sisters, Lesador Seabolt, Nancy Bolen, and brother in-law, Roger Lovejoy.  Barbara is survived by her children, James (Carolyn) Hajek of Crystal River, FL, Barbara A. (Steve) Hajek-Cervenak of Doylestown, Theresa “Terri” Zeaman of Chagrin Falls; grandchildren, Karen (Scott) Steen, Kenneth (Tamar) Hajek, Beth (Jake) Lewis, Mary Jo (Lonnie) Kaye, Ana Hajek, Rachel Zeaman, Emily Zeaman; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Becky “Bing” Lovejoy of Splendora, TX; daughter in-law, Mary Kay Hajek of Doylestown; special cousins, Naomi and Rob Harper; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Southwest Church of Christ, 516 33rd St. SW, Barberton, 44203 with Pastor Nathan Robinson and Pastor Allen Jolly, co-officiating.  Burial to take place at Chestnut Hill cemetery.  Family will receive friends on Thursday from 5-8 at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown 44230 and one hour prior to service time on Friday at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Barbara’s name to Southwest Church of Christ.  Online obituary and guest registry are available at www.zakmonbarrenfh.com
