I'm sorry I didn't hear the news of your passing. You were my best friend and I admired your wisdom and humor. You will be missed my dear friend. Rest in peace. I love you always.

Dr Gilcrest was my doctor for over 20 years until I moved to Columbus. I ended up with pneumonia during basketball season in college & he saw me on Christmas day at his house on a weekend. He was a generous human being in every sense. He did house calls when no one else did for the shut in and elderly. They don't make 'em like this anymore. I had to get used to the big city docs being so impersonal. I thank his family for sharing him with all of us. He was one of a kind! You can bet he gave me the business when my Barberton team would beat Chippewa! He would tease that he was going to give me pills that would make me miss all my shots that week! So many great memories! God Bless!

Dear Laura and Roger,
When I was in junior high, your father hired me to work weekends at your home, answering phone calls for him. In high school I moved to working at his office and continued in his employment through my sophomore year in college. I cannot begin to tell you the tremendous impact this beautiful man had on my life. I have literally known him from the day of my birth. By example he taught me compassion, perserverence, work ethic, and the value of an education. He was literally a second father to me. Whenever I came back to Doylestown, I always stopped in to see him. His wit was as sharp as ever. I recall one time I stopped in to see him, after I had dropped about 50 pounds, and the first thing he said was, "You got worms?" Of course, he followed that with a big hug:)

I cannot thank God enough that He brought the two of us together. I cannot imagine what my life would have been without him. I pray that all the stories you hear about him will help you get through these difficult days, and that wonderful memories will soon replace the stabbing grief in your hearts. God has truly inherited an angel. Can't wait to see him again in the hereafter.

God bless,
Barb (Murray) Williams

Very saddened to hear of his passing, he is the most wonderful, caring doctor Doylestown could have asked for. He took such good care of me and my family even taking the time to make emergency house calls for my grandfather. Dr. Gilcrest is a very educated physican and knew how to calm a sick child and could handle any emergency put before him. He will be very much missed for he was a highly respected man in our town God Bless.

My deepest sympathy to you all. You are all in my thoughts & prayers. Dr, Gilcrest was a caring, compassionate man & a wonderful doctor. He was our family's doctor. I remember when he made house calls to our home to take care of my mother as she was dying of colon cancer. All we had to do was call him, & he was there to see her, & he called in her prescriptions to Purdy's Pharmacy. A good many of those house calls, he made without being called just so he could check on her & talk with her as her doctor & friend. I will also remember seeing Dr. Gilcrest standing on the sidelines with the team cheering them on at all of the Chippewa High School football games & ready to help if someone got hurt on our team or the opposing team. Rest in peace, Dr. Gilcrest.

Laura, Roger, Patti & family, I'm thinking of the days we spent as neighbors and playmates. How gracious your Mom was, and how your Dad had a part in every aspect of my life; good and bad. He was always there for me, from birth to Graduation from High School and beyond. As you know, your Mom & Dad will be fondly remembered by everyone. Everyone.
