DALTON – Florence O. Wood, age 95, passed away on December 8, 2017.

Born on April 8, 1922 in Massillon to the late Valentine and Susan Weisgarber, she was a life resident of Dalton.  Florence retired from Bordners in the Mayflower Plaza after 25 years of service.  A member of Stanwood Community Church and the Ladies Aid of the church, she was an Avon representative for many years and also a member of T.O.P.S.

Preceded in death by her husband, William O. Wood in 1996, she is survived by her children, Suzanne (Bruce) Andres of Sandusky, Karen (Mitchell) Scheeser of Calais, OH, Alvin (Carol) Wood of Dalton, Robert (Patricia) Wood of North Lawrence; grandchildren, Annette Heidy, Michelle (Tim) Davis, Sean Wood, Chris Wood, Jessica (Thomas) Hobson, Laura Wood; great grandchildren, Sydney, Lauren, Allison, Cory; great-great grandchildren, Alissa and Sadie.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Stanwood Community Church, 14715 Stanwood St. S.W., Navarre, OH, 44662 with Pastors Matt Ellington and Dale Boston co-officiating. Burial will be at Stanwood Cemetery.  Friends and family may call on Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 29 E. Main St., Dalton, OH, 44618 and one hour prior to service at the church on Wednesday.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stanwood Community Church.  Online obituary and guest registry are available at www.zakmonbarrenfh.com
