DOYLESTOWN – George Magyar, age 72, passed away on July 30, 2017.
Born on September 20, 1944 in Orrville to Joseph and Margaret (Ocai) Magyar, he was a resident of Doylestown since 1967. George retired from PSC Metals, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during Vietnam. A member of the Marshallville American Legion Post #718 and the Canal Fulton VFW Post #9795, he enjoyed being outdoors hunting, riding his four-wheeler, and spending time in his garden.
Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joe, John, Mike, and James Magyar; sister, MaryAnn Smith. He is survived by his brothers, Paul (Patricia) Magyar of Doylestown, Anthony (Rhonda) Magyar of Canal Fulton; aunt, Helen Dorff; special nephew, Richard Smith; good friends, Bruce and Kali Gray; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 12 p.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown 44230 with Pastor Nathan Robinson, officiating. Burial with military honors will be held at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Marshallville American Legion Post #718, 7 S.
