Irene was such a lovely and gracious woman who provided many, many years of friendship to my mother Helen Marshall. I will always remember her as the beautiful, smiling, elegant lady as depicted in this photograph. May you rest in heavenly peace, dear Irene.

Irene was such a sparkling and erudite addition to the Akron Art Museum docent team, providing such insights for students and adults on their tours. She was such a joy to be around, and even as her memory faded, she still was cheerful when we all met. I remember her power walking and pilates classes as well as her support of my artistic endeavors. My deepest sympathy to you all, Dr. Gildrest and family.
Unfortunately I am working at The University of Akron Friday morning, so I am sorry that I am unable to pay my respects in person to honor her.
