DALTON – J.L. Gregory “Greg” Henning, age 76, passed away unexpectedly on February 3, 2018.
Born on March 3, 1941 in Wooster to the late Lyman C. and Wilma (Brown) Henning, he was a life-long resident of Dalton. Greg retired from Volvo in Orrville, and was previously with Massillon Steel Castings. He was an honorary fire fighter with the Dalton Fire Dept. for over 20 years. He was a member of Cedars Lodge #430 F & AM in Orrville, and a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite, Valley of Canton. Greg was very mechanically inclined and was able to fix most anything.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Peggy; children, Joanna L. (Allen) Graber, Jeffery, Dennis, and Michael Henning all of Dalton; grandchildren, Dustin and Adam Graber, Abby Jane Henning, Tara Jean Henning; step grandchildren, J.D. Murphy, Lindsay Sillman, Brittany Lehman; two great-grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; sister, Janice (Rad) Ferrè of CA; brother, Lynn E. Henning of Dalton. He is also preceded in death by special family friend, Denise Kay.
