Marjorie Hanak

DOYLESTOWN - Marjorie Hanak (Rohrbaugh), age 85, passed away Wednesday, February 7 following a brief illness.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Margie was born in Mogadore, Ohio to Oran and Nellie Rohrbaugh. She lived in Doylestown most of her life.  She graduated in 1951 from Doylestown High School, and married her high school sweetheart, Charles Hanak, on June 20, 1953. Margie worked for Doylestown Local School System for many years as a teacher’s aide, a secretary at the high school and finally as secretary to the superintendent.  She was an active member of Barberton Church of God and was involved in many missions and women’s organizations at the church.

Margie was a gifted artist and seamstress.  She enjoyed quilting and scrapbooking as well as creating cards for family and friends. Margie and Charlie enjoyed traveling, camping with family and attending activities that involved their grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oran and Nellie Rohrbaugh, sister, Ruth Stump, half-brother, William Rohrbaugh, and father and mother-in-law, Nick and Mary Hanak.

Margie is survived by her loving husband, Charles; children, Nancy (Doug) Beard, Ruth (Joe) Feesler and Steve (Lyn) Hanak; grandchildren, Ben (Lindsay) Feesler, Rachel (Brian) Simpson, Josh (Liz) Feesler, Emily Hanak, Sarah Beard, Amanda (Jarrod) Weaver, Michael Hanak and Abby Beard; great-grandchildren, Addison and McKinley Simpson, Benny and Jude Feesler and Bryce Weaver. She is also survived by her sister, Glenna Dannemiller, sister-in-law Sally (Roy) Bowen and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Akron General Hospital’s Critical Care Unit for their kind and compassionate care.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown 44230.  A private family service will be held with inurnment at Chestnut Hill Cemetery at a later date.
