Martha L. Gardner

DOYLESTOWN – Martha L. Gardner (Schrader) age 93, passed away on February 10, 2018.

Born on October 20, 1924 in St. Joseph, OH to the late Henry and Theresa (May) Schrader. Martha attended St. Joseph School and Parish, graduated from Randolph High School and attended Business College in Akron. She married her husband Donald in 1948 and they soon moved to Doylestown. She was a long-time active member of Sts. Peter & Paul Parish in Doylestown, the Altar Society, and the National Council of Catholic Women, and was the village Welcome Wagon representative for 20 years.

She was preceded in death by husband, Donald W. Gardner; an infant son; parents, Henry and Theresa (May) Schrader; grandson, Steven; siblings, Rita Flanagan, Dolores, William, Rosemary Hammer, Germaine Kline, and Donald. Martha is survived by children, Gerald (Kym) of Coeur d’Alene, ID, Kenneth (Dana) of Athens, OH, David (Jill), Robert, Mark (Tina) all of Doylestown, and Jay (Tim) of Lakewood; beloved grandchildren, Matthew (Julie) Gardner, Kelli (Matt) Sisson, Johanna Gardner, Theresa Gardner, Logan and Sara Gardner: great grandchildren, Adam, Emily, Claire, Cora and Ava; granddaughter in-law, Ruth Gardner; siblings, Rev. James Schrader, C.PP.S. of Carthagena, OH, Hank of Stow, and Jean Koczur of St. Joseph; many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 161 W. Clinton St, Doylestown, OH, 44230, with Fr. Robert Stein, Celebrant.  Burial will be at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery.  Friends may call on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chippewa Twp. Fire Dept., 464 Gates St., Doylestown, OH 44230 or Sts.
