BARBERTON – Phyllis H. Shirey, age 70, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 22, 2017.

Born on January 27, 1947 in Barberton to the late Leo and Katherine (Messner) Fern, she was a life resident of the Barberton / Norton area.  Phyllis was a member of Liberty Free Will Baptist church.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and taking part in different activities at her church.

Preceded in death by her brothers, Dale and Robert Fern; sisters, Patricia Fortner, Imogene Gregory, and Leona Schaffer; she is survived by her husband of 45 years, William; children, Debra Ramsey (Jeff Vittori) of New Franklin, Mishelle Walsh of Barberton, Carmen Mitchell of Orrville; grandchildren, Nicole (Josh Neal), Lauren Ramsey, Justin, and Payton Walsh, Brooke, and Zak Mitchell; great granddaughter, Marley Ramsey; brothers, Larry (Kim) Fern, Gerald (Debbie) Fern; sister in-law, Jo Fern; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held Friday, December 29, 2017, at 6 p.m. at Liberty Free Will Baptist Church, 3819 Johnson Rd., Norton, OH, 44203 with Pastor Cecil Farmer, officiating. Family and friends may call from 3 p.m. until time of service at the church on Friday.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church.  Online obituary and guest registry are available at www.zakmonbarrenfh.com
