AKRON – Richard W. “Dick” Amshey, age 76, passed away on December 7, 2017 after a short illness.

Born on March 8, 1941 to the late Valentine and Anne (Vasalonis) Amshey, he was a resident of Akron for many years. Retiring from the Laborers Union International, Dick worked in construction for various companies.

Preceded in death by his brother, Thomas; sister, Eleanor Esposito, he is survived by his children, Terri Amshey of Lehigh Acres, FL and her daughter Samantha Steger; son, Robby Amshey of Akron; sister, Eileen Shoemaker of Florida.

Per Dick’s request, cremation has taken place and he will be returned to Florida where he enjoyed vacationing and spending time with family.  Online obituary and guest registry are available at www.zakmonbarrenfh.com
