Rommie D. Carpenter Sr.

DOYLESTOWN - Rommie D. Carpenter Sr., age 84, passed away on March 18, 2018.

Born on March 2, 1934 in Gay, WV to Willis D. and Lona D. (Brabham) Carpenter, he was a resident of Doylestown for more than 50 years. Rommie was retired from Babcock & Wilcox Co., and was a member of the NRA and a life member of both the Wadsworth Hunt Club and the North American Hunt Club. He was very proud of his blood donations (over 2 gallons) to the American Red Cross. 

Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alice; grandson, Keith Sergent; brother, Russell; he is survived by his children, Connie (Rick) Woll and Penny (Tim) Booth all of Doylestown, Rommie Jr. (Amy Topper) Carpenter of Akron, David Carpenter of Cuyahoga Falls, Kirk (Rhonda) Carpenter of Wadsworth, Robbie (Jeff) Paridon of Minnesota, Missy Bogdanski of Doylestown; 19 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; 3 brothers; 8 sisters; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown 44230. A private service will be held by the family with inurnment at Chestnut Hill Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Visiting Nurse, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, OH 44333.  Online obituary and guest registry are available at www.zakmonbarrenfh.com.
