DOYLESTOWN – Betty J. Fazenbaker, age 72 of Doylestown, passed away on March 6, 2017 after a short battle with cancer.
She was born on April 17, 1944 in Baltimore, MD to the late Elmer and Edith Nestor and was raised in Parsons, WV. Betty moved to Ohio and married George Fazenbaker on April 20th, 1963. It was here that she started her family and lived out her life. She enjoyed making wedding cakes and catering dinners. To many she was known as the “Cake Lady” for all of her beautiful receptions and parties.
She had a love for music throughout her life. From the time she was little, she played in a family band. Much of her joy came from interacting with her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching their soccer games, attending their school events, and watching as they performed in the musical arts. She was happiest celebrating all of their achievements.
Betty was a member of the Doylestown United Methodist Church and had a strong faith in this life and the after-life. Her life was selfless. She only ever wanted to help others and better those around her. She enhanced the life of every person she touched by being kind and understanding. This was truly her life’s work here on Earth.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, George F.; brothers, Ronald L. and Lonnie R. Nestor. Betty is survived by her daughter, Patricia L. Smith of PA; sons, DeWayne P., George E., Gregory B. (Amber) Fazenbaker all of Doylestown; grandchildren, Alesha and Crystal Smith, Ashley, Caryssa and Justin Fazenbaker, Jessica (Kahlib) Painter, Tryston and Jordynn Fazenbaker; brothers, Donald C. and Randy G.
