DOYLESTOWN – Charles B. Hanak, age 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at GreenView Senior Assisted Living.
Charles was born in Chippewa Twp. to the late Nick and Mary (Cerbus) Hanak. A life resident of Doylestown, Charles was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the U.S. Air Force. He graduated from The University of Akron with a degree in Education, and taught for 26 years at Green Local Schools in Summit County, spending most of his career teaching 6th grade at East Liberty Elementary. He also worked for the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier in Doylestown. He was a life member of the Church of God (Anderson, IN) and most recently a member of the Barberton Church of God where he served in many of the church's activities and ministries. He and his late wife Margie, enjoyed traveling, camping with family, and attending any activity that involved their grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marjorie in February 2018, Charles is survived by his loving children, Nancy (Doug) Beard, Ruth (Joe) Feesler and Steve (Lyn) Hanak; grandchildren, Ben (Lindsay) Feesler, Rachel (Brian) Simpson, Josh (Liz) Feesler, Emily Hanak, Sarah Beard, Amanda (Jarrod) Weaver, Michael Hanak and Abby Beard; great-grandchildren, Addison and McKinley Simpson, Benny and Jude Feesler and Bryce Weaver; sister, Sally (Roy) Bowen; sister-in-law, Glenna Dannemiller; many nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown 44230 and one hour prior to service time at the church. Funeral service will be Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Barberton Church of God, 855 Summit St., Barberton, OH, 44203 with Pastor Chuck Erbe, officiating. Burial will be at Chestnut Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Haven of Rest Ministries, 175 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44308, or to a charity of one’s choice.
