ORRVILLE – Darrell D. “Dean” Sommers, age 73, passed away unexpectedly on September 10, 2019.

Born on August 21, 1946 in Orrville to the late Virgil O. and Ella (Phipps) Sommers, he was a resident of Orrville for the past few years, previously of Dalton. Dean was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his daughter, Deana (Chet) Heck; son, Erik (Kristin) Jones, all of Dalton; granddaughter, Lily Heck; sister, Barbara (Alan) Ellis of Shreve.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with inurnment at Dalton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, 2601 E.
