DOYLESTOWN – David A. Maki, age 77, passed away on August 25, 2017 after a short battle with cancer.
Born on March 20, 1940 in Wakefield, MI to the late Oiva and Annette (Allen) Maki, He was a resident of Doylestown for 37 years and was previously of Marysville, MI. Retiring from the Medical Center of Cleveland and previously with Diamond Crystal Salt, Dave was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Doylestown. A nostalgic man at heart, he loved to sit and reminisce about old times. His enjoyments were attending his class reunions, wood working, sharing with his friends on Facebook, and spending time with his grandchildren and supporting them in all of their activities.
Preceded in death by his brother, Oiva Jr., he is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nola (nee Modjewski); sons, Scott (Mary) Maki of Lowell, IN, Mark (Jennifer) Maki of Barberton; grandchildren, Rachelle, Carson, A.J., Corinne; brother, Forrest Maki of Superior, WI; sister-in-law, Darlene Maki of Hoyt Lakes, MN; special nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Memorial service will be Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 4 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, 65 E. Clinton St., Doylestown, 44230 with Pastor Christopher Bartholomew, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chippewa Twp. EMS, 464 Gates St., Doylestown, OH, 44230 or Hospice of Visiting Nurse, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, OH, 44333.
