NAVARRE – Doyle M. Gerber, age 91, passed away on September 20, 2017.

Born on February 18, 1926 in Sugar Creek Township to the late Aldis and Sarah (Lehman) Gerber, Doyle was a resident of Navarre for 20 years, previously of Massillon and Dalton.  A graduate of Dalton High School in 1946 and Wooster Business College in 1948, he worked for various companies, always in sales. Doyle enjoyed sports, especially the Cleveland Indians and Massillon football.  He also enjoyed feeding the birds with Elaine.

Preceded in death by brothers, Orris, Herman, and Harry Gerber; brothers-in-law, Adin Murray and Les Mumaw; sisters-in-law, Esther Gerber and Mabel Gerber; he is survived by special friend and longtime companion, B. Elaine Bean of Navarre; sisters, Barbara Murray of Orrville, Norma Mumaw of MI, Anna Jean (Jim) Rios of IL, Karen (Walt) Thieszen of WI; sister-in-law, Elaine Gerber of IL; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 29 E. Main St., Dalton, OH 44618 with nephew Randy Murray, officiating.  Burial will take place at Martins Mennonite Cemetery.  Friends may call on Saturday from 12 p.m. until time of service.
