Eugene G. Rhoades

DOYLESTOWN – Eugene G. Rhoades, age 89, passed away on July 21, 2019.

Born on September 19, 1929 in Clinton, OH to the late Dewey and Dorothy (Briggs) Rhoades, he was a life resident of the Norton/Doylestown area.  Eugene retired from Babcock & Wilcox with 30 years of service and was then owner/operator of The Oil Shop in Norton. A veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict, Eugene enjoyed being retired.

Preceded in death by his wife, Maycel in 2014; infant son, Jeffrey; sister, Florence “Flo: (Bob) Schubert; he is survived by his children, Kevin Rhoades (Rick Meeks) of Akron, Sherry (Paul) Underwood of Doylestown, Jerry Rhoades of Wadsworth; grandchildren, Abby (Mike) Nichols, Tyler Rhoades, Kyle (Farah) Underwood, Jennifer Rhoades; great grandchildren, Aidyn and Liam Nichols, Blake Smith and Zoey Underwood.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, OH, 44230.
