Gary L. Burroway

DOYLESTOWN – Gary L. Burroway, age 79, passed away unexpectedly on May 30, 2018.

Born on August 28, 1938 in Uhrichsville, OH to the late James and Ruth (Laizure) Burroway, he was a 1960 graduate of Ohio State University and resident of Doylestown since 1967. Retiring from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. after 30 years, Gary was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where he was council president and was a member and past president of the Doylestown Lions Club. He had volunteered for LifeCare Hospice for 12 years and was previously with Wadsworth-Rittman Hospice.  Gary also volunteered for the Wayne County Meals on Wheels for many years and Morning Star Farm Ministries.

Preceded in death by his brother, James; sister-in-law, Betty, he is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marianne; son, Jeffrey (Joyce) of Xenia, OH; daughter, Laura Omalley of  Doylestown; granddaughter, Caitlyn Grace; brother, Glenn Burroway of New Philadelphia; sister-in-law, Linda (Gus) Grunit of Portsmouth; nephews, Jim (Chris), David (Kellie), Bill (Sarah), and John (Jennifer) Burroway; other family and friends.

Funeral service will be on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, OH, 44230 with Pastor Christopher Bartholomew, officiating.  Burial will be at Chestnut Hill Cemetery.  Friends may call on Monday from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH, 44691 or Zion Lutheran Church, 65 E.
