Obituary

MARSHALLVILLE – George A. Snyder Sr., age 79, passed away on May 7, 2019.

Born on May 8, 1940 in Marshallville to the late Claude G. and Catherine (Glazer) Snyder, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army.  George retired from National Pattern in Orrville after 15 years of service and was previously with Schaffer Valve and Conval Inc.  A member of the Marshallville American Legion Post #718 and the Orrville Farmers and Sportsman Club, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family, especially the little ones.

Preceded in death by his great grandchildren, Elijah, and Hannah; 2 brothers, he is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara; children, Teri (David) Gadfield of Marshallville, Gail Bennett of Doylestown, Susan (William) Crawn of Massillon, George Jr. (Julie) Snyder of Marshallville; grandchildren, Natasha (Dr. Joshua) Merrill, Eden Langston, Eric Michael Langston, Kendra Bennett, Amanda (Kevin) Sharrock, Nikita Snyder, Cheyenne Snyder, Dillon Perego; great grandchildren, Noah and Jacob Merrill, Sophia Simmons, Cooper and Blair Sharrock, Aidyn and Dakota Snyder; 3 brothers; 6 sisters, special friend, Mary Short, many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with inurnment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.  Memorials may be made in George’s honor to the Orrville Farmers and Sportsman Club, 18473 Shifferly Rd., North Lawrence, OH 44666.  Online obituary and guest registry are available at www.zakmonbarrenfh.com
