Joel L. Springer

SMITHVILLE – Joel Lee Springer, age 61, passed away unexpectedly on December 8, 2018.

Born on February 23, 1957 in Akron, OH to the late Aaron P. and Macil G. (Kinsey) Springer, he was a resident of Smithville for 3 years, previously of Doylestown.  Joel was retired from Land O Lakes with 32 years of service and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and Browns.

He is survived by his children, Jamie (Bob) Williams of Wooster, Jason (Amber) Springer of Marshallville, Kyle Springer of Barberton; grandchildren, Lena Springer, Liam Springer, Makenna Springer, Jensen Williams; uncle, John Springer and his family; special K-9 friends, Petey and Macie; other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown 44230 with Richard Moneypenny officiating.  Burial to take place at Chestnut Hill Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until time of service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wayne County Humane Society, 1161 Mechanicsburg Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
