John Heil

FAIRLAWN - John Heil, age 92, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2018 surrounded by his family.

Born on February 3, 1926 in Udvari, Hungary to John and Elizabeth Heil, he was a resident of Fairlawn for 30 years.  John retired from General Motors in 1991, and loved being a landlord of several properties. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandson.

Preceded in death by his parents and son, Helmuth; he is survived by his wife of 68 years, Elizabeth; sons, Al (Treva) Heil of Doylestown, Wolfgang (Treasea) Heil of Green; grandson, Jon (Amber) Heil of Ravenna; great grandchildren, Adelynn and Tyson.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown with Pastor Jack Kozak, officiating.  Burial to take place at Mt. Peace Cemetery in Akron.  Family will receive friends on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until time of service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cleveland Clinic/Akron General Hospice of VNS, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, OH 44333.  Online obituary and guest registry are available at www.zakmonbarrenfh.com
