DALTON - Joseph F. Carroll, age 76, passed away on January 3, 2018.

Born on March 14, 1941 in Baltimore, MD to the late Joseph C. and Lillian (Dorsch) Carroll, he was a resident of Dalton for 30 years, previously of Maryland.  A graduate of Calvert Hall High School, he obtained his Bachelor’s degree at Johns Hopkins and a Master’s degree at Mt. St. Mary’s in 1977.  Joe was retired from Red Head Brass, and had been employed at Westinghouse. An avid auto racing fan of all racing series, he enjoyed spending time with his friends in his MGB group, traveling, working with electronics, cheap wine and cheesecake.  He loved spending time with his family and swimming in his pool.

He is also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara J. (Flannery) in 2006 and daughter, Lynn Funk.  Joe is survived by his son, William (Jennifer A.) Carroll of MA; daughter, Erin Comeione of Orrville; grandchildren, Jessica (Andrew) Archibald, Bryce and Nathan Comeione, Liam and James Carroll; great granddaughter, Reagan; son in-law, Stephen Funk of MD; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Friends may call on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 29 E.
