Loretta J. Langguth

September 4, 1932 ~ March 7, 2017 (age 84) 84 Years Old

DOYLESTOWN - Loretta J. Langguth, age 84, joyfully entered into Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior and loved ones after passing away unexpectedly on March 7, 2017.

Born on September 4, 1932 to the late Jack and Thelma (Ball) Salyer, she was a resident of Doylestown for more than 50 years.  Loretta had been a secretary for Doylestown Health Care, Hazel Harvey Elementary, and various other organizations over the years.  She was a member of the Doylestown United Methodist Church for many years where she was involved in the church choir, youth and adult bible groups, and served as a spiritual leader to all who knew her. Loretta was very active in her community where she knew no stranger.  She was an avid Chippewa sports fan first following her kids, then grandkids and finally her self-appointed “grandkids” all of whom were her CHIPPS.  Loretta was proud to be an American and loved her country.  She enjoyed listening to patriotic music and watching the fireworks every 4th of July.  Loretta loved nothing more than spending time with or boasting about her family, of whom she was so proud.

Preceded in death by her husband, Frederick in 1996, she is survived by her son, Fred Langguth II (Penny) and daughter, Jacquie (Joe) Petit all of Doylestown; grandchildren, Jodie (Tim) Hughes, Michael (Melissa) Langguth, Miki Langguth, Jeff (Mandy) Petit, John (Justina) Petit; 9 great grandchildren; brother, Harold (Ann) Salyer of Rittman; other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Doylestown United Methodist Church, 153 Church St., Doylestown 44230 with Pastor Dale Warrick, officiating. Private burial will be held at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown and one hour prior to service time on Monday at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Doylestown United Methodist Church.  Online obituary and guest registry are available at www.zakmonbarrenfh.com
