Michael L. Woods

NORTH LAWRENCE – Michael L. Woods, age 57, passed away on December 13, 2018 after a short battle with cancer.   Born on November 2, 1961 in Orrville, OH, Mike was a resident of North Lawrence for 30 years, previously of Orrville.  Employed by Akron Brass and previously Orrville Bronze, Mike attended Faith United Methodist Church in North Lawrence.  He loved being outdoors, camping, and riding his Harley Davidson.

Preceded in death by his father, Dean; son, Dustin; brother, Rick (Nancy); nephew, DJ Crihfield; he is survived by his wife of 28 years Barbara; sons, Michael Woods Jr. of Massillon,  Julius Woods (Sarah Stelmarski) of Wooster; step son, James (Chrystal) Hickman of Nashville, OH; step daughters, Mellanie (Kevin) Pope of Arkansas, Jessica (Vennie) Bennett of Waynesburg, PA; 13 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; mother, Betty Woods of Rittman; sisters, Debbie (Ron) Lewis of Orrville, Karen (George) Ross of Smithville, Marnita (Dennis) Stanford of North Lawrence; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

A gathering to celebrate Michael’s life will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 29 E. Main St., Dalton, OH, 44618.  Online obituary and guest registry are available at www.zakmonbarrenfh.com
