Orus L. Ashcraft

DOYLESTOWN - Orus L. Ashcraft, age 82, passed away unexpectedly on September 20, 2018.

Born on October 18, 1935 in Wallace, WV to the late Vais and Wilma (Harbert) Ashcraft, he was a resident of Doylestown since 1958, previously of Barberton. Orus retired from P.P.G. Co. after 40 years of service as a mine worker, and was a member of Barberton Moose Lodge #759, the Slovene Center, and the Barberton Civitan Club.  He loved to play euchre and spending time with his family, especially attending the grandchildren’s events. Orus was there to help anyone who would ask.

Preceded in death by his great grandson, Austin; daughter in-law, Nancy Ashcraft; brother, Edgar Ashcraft; Orus is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Hollie; sons, Warren (Bea) Ashcraft of Doylestown, Anthony Ashcraft of Norton, Dan Ashcraft of Wadsworth; 6 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Wanda Camp of Wallace, WV; sister in-law, Nada Ashcraft of Easton, OH; 3 nephews and 3 nieces; other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 24, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown 44230 with Pastor Richard Hoskins, officiating.  Burial to take place at Chestnut Hill Cemetery.  Friends may call on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m.  Online obituary and guest registry are available at www.zakmonbarrenfh.com
