DOYLESTOWN – Sally A. Benner, age 83, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Sunday, June 18, 2017.

Sally was born on March 27, 1934 in Barberton, Ohio to the late Clarence and Mildred (Basler) Nease and step-father, Thomas Odwalt.  She married James Benner on May 8, 1953 and was happily married for 62 years.  James died on March 18, 2016. She worked for Yoder Brothers Inc. in Barberton retiring in 1996.  Sally had a generous heart.  She was constantly thinking of others and enjoyed doing kind things for them.  She enjoyed sewing, cross stitching, cooking, and spending time with her family.  She especially enjoyed her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Her love and wonderful spirit will be missed by many.

She is survived by her daughter and son in-law, Shelley and Delbert Berger of Doylestown; grandchildren, Beth (Sean) Keating and Brian James Berger; great grandchildren, Hannah Wilson, Jaxson and Landyn Keating; brother and sister in-law, Walter and Elaine Nease; nieces, Suzanne (Jim) Switzer and Cindy (Paul) Evans.

To Those I Love

When I am gone, just release me, let me go – so I can move into my afterglow.

You mustn’t tie me down with your tears; let’s be happy that we had so many years.

I gave you my love, you can only guess how much you gave me happiness.

I thank you for the love you each have shown, but now it’s time I traveled on alone.

So grieve for me awhile, if grieve you must, then let your grief be comforted with trust.

It’s only for a while that we must part, so bless the memories within your heart.

And then, when you must come this way alone, I’ll great you with a smile and a

“Welcome Home.”

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, 44230 with Pastor Christopher Bartholomew officiating.  Burial to take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park.  Friends may call on Thursday from 11 a.m. until time of service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church Clothe-A-Kid, P.O.
