Shirley A. Hare

DALTON – Shirley A. Hare, age 80, passed away unexpectedly on April 23, 2018.

Born on May 9, 1937 in Dalton to the late Lester L. and Eleanor (Hunter) Hare, she was a life resident of Dalton.  She retired from the Dalton Local School Board after many years of service as a secretary, and was a member of the Dalton Presbyterian Church and the Dalton Presbyterian Women.  She liked to travel the country, spend time with her cats, work in her flower gardens, and read a good book.  Shirley dedicated her life to helping others which was exemplified through her involvement in many church and school activities, and volunteering with many community organizations.

She is survived by her brother, John (Sheila) Hare of Orrville; a niece, two nephews, five great nephews, and many community friends.

A private graveside service will be held by the family at Dalton Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dalton Presbyterian Church, PO Box 306, Dalton, OH 44618 or to the East Wayne Fire District, PO Box 134, Dalton, OH 44618.  Online obituary and guest registry are available at www.zakmonbarrenfh.com
