Dalton - Thelma U. Robinson, age 86, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2017 at Shady Lawn Health Care. 

Born on December 5, 1930 in Alliance to the late Elliott and Lillian (Kirsey) Young, she was a resident of Dalton for 22 years, previously of Massillon. In her younger years, Thelma loved to travel and had been employed by Massillon State Hospital where her passion was nursing and helping other people.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Herman Robinson; brothers, Emerson, Leroy, George, and L.T. Young; sisters, Arreatha Sheffield, Annie Wiggins, Sadie Lee, Kathleen Coles, and Dorothy Upshaw.  Thelma is survived by her siblings, Elliott Jr. (Jacqueline) Young of Cleveland, Barbara (William) Walker of Warren, Helen Lopes of Canton, Marion (Winfred) Young of Alliance; special niece and nephews, Carole Clark, Robert James, Lisbon James, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 29 E. Main St., Dalton 44618, with Minister Christine Pullin, officiating.  Burial to take place at Dalton Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
