MARSHALLVILLE – Alan R. Johnson, age 72, passed away unexpectedly on July 29, 2025.
Born on March 25, 1953 in Lodi, OH to the late Andrew and Clela (Richard) Johnson, he was a graduate of Smithville High School and later obtained his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Penn State University. Alan was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served from 1973 to 1977 achieving a final rank of Seargent before being honorably discharged. It was during his training in California that he was able to visit all the western states, and most of their national parks. Alan was stationed first in Spain and then in Turkey, where he was able to purchase a Fiat 124 to travel to Greece and Italy and enjoyed getting to drive the Amalfi coastline. After his graduation from Penn State, he had the honor of then escorting his mother on a group tour of London, Paris, and Rome. A resident of Marshallville since 1994 he retired from Quality Castings in Orrville and had a passion for motorcycles.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Richard and two infant siblings. He is survived by four brothers, three sisters, two nephews and a niece.
Cremation has taken place and a private memorial gathering with inurnment will be held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Online obituary and guest registry are available at www.zakmonbarrenfh.com
