DOYLESTOWN – Alice Lucretia Pol, age 85, passed away on May 14, 2025.
Born on January 12, 1940 in Ravenna, OH, the eldest of Harry and Thelma Steckel, she was a 1958 graduate of Rootstown High School where she was a majorette and cheerleader. A long-time resident of the Barberton / Doylestown area, Alice became an Ordained Minister in September 2006. She served as an associate pastor, church secretary, and Sunday school teacher at the Barberton Church of God where she, her husband, and family have attended church since 1965. Pastor Alice was a strong willed, kind, gentle, loving, devoted and thoughtful woman of God. Beyond her church, she had also worked as a secretary for Dr. Dean Mayor, and also St. Hiliary Church in Fairlawn.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Maylene and Harriet. She is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Terry; children, Dean Pol, Jerry (Tammy) Pol, Joann (Gene) Miller, Brian (Sheila) Pol, Sharon (Steve) Hershberger; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sisters, Joyce and Carmen; brothers, Lanny, Eric, and Carl; other family and many friends.
The family would like to express a heart felt thank you and appreciation for the staff at both the Windsor House Doylestown Health Care Center and Traditions Hospice.
A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, May 25, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. at the Barberton Church of God, 885 N. Summit St., Barberton, OH, 44203.
