Antoinette "Toni" M. Steurer

NORTON – Antoinette M. “Toni” Steurer, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on December 24, 2022 at the age of 73.

Born on June 6, 1949 in Akron, OH to the late Anthony and Vincentia (Milazzo) Barone, she was a resident of Norton for the past six years, previously of Doylestown.  Toni retired after 47 years as an RN at Akron General Medical Center.  She was a member of Nativity of the Lord Jesus Catholic Church. She enjoyed boating, hiking, playing backgammon, and traveling.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Frank M. Barna; sisters, Rose Johnson, and Frances Arnold.  She leaves behind her husband of six years, Lawrence “Larry”; her children, Anita (Garrett) Bowie of Canton, MI, Michelle (Christopher) Hammond of Jackson, OH, Timothy (Amanda) Barna of Canal Fulton, OH; grandchildren, Avery, Raylene, Hannah, Braxton, Aidan, Keagan, Hailey, Jaxon; sister, Virginia (Robert) Mangimele of FL; brother, Anthony (Barbara) Barone of Akron, OH; and life-long friends, Mary Lou Haidnick and Theresa Sachs.

Toni had a contagious positive spirit and touched all those who came into her life. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Nativity of the Lord Jesus Catholic Church, 2425 Myersville Rd., Akron, OH, 44312 with Fr. Zachary Kawalec, Celebrant.  Inurnment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.  Calling hours will be on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N.
