Arthur "Art" R. Watkins II

1925 - 2021


DOYLESTOWN – Arthur R. “Art” Watkins II, age 95, passed away on March 9, 2021.

Born in Kenmore, OH to the late David and Pearl (Adams) Watkins, he was a resident of Doylestown since 1947.  He was a member of the Greatest Generation and veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Army in Europe. Art retired from Jakes Pizza after many years and was a member of the Doylestown American Legion Post #407, Wadsworth Eagles Aerie #2117, Wadsworth V.F.W. Post 1089, and the Rittman Moose Lodge #860.

Preceded in death by his brothers, Paul, Robert, and Ed; sisters, Ruth Salzwimmer, Delma Roberts, and Genevieve Watkins, he will be missed and loved always by his surviving children, Todd (Angie) Watkins of Norton, Stacy Beatty (fiancé Mike Slorgie) of Uhrichsville, OH, Arthur Watkins III of Denver, CO, Steve Watkins of Akron, Amber (Tim) Hague of Wadsworth; grandchildren, Jeff Watkins, Robin(Nick) Eichenlaub, Julia and Jared Beatty, Kyle Hershey, Kayla, Halie and AJ Watkins, Alexis Watkins, Morgan and Mason Hague; great grandchildren, Clayton and Ivy Eichenlaub; sister, Lois Milazzo of Kenmore; many nieces, nephews, other family and many close friends.

The family wishes to thank all those who cared for him at Doylestown Healthcare, Sunnyslope Care Center and Crossroads Hospice.

A private committal service with military honors will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.  Online obituary and guest registry are available at

Art was a Doylestown Legend He was my boss in the late 70's and early 80's when he hired me to work at Jakes Pizza Will never forget Art! Great Guy!

I remember Art driving around in a big long car with a cigar hanging from his lips. 
He really was a wonderful person with a personality that many do not have. His family were blessed to have him. Rest In Paradise Art, you will be missed.

Sorry to hear of Art passing. I babysit for his children’s Todd, Stacy and baby Art. He was such a nice man and father. Thoughts and prayers are with the family’s.
