Betty L. Holmes

DOYLESTOWN – Betty L. Holmes, age 89, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on August 13, 2021.

Born on May 27, 1932 in Akron, OH to the late Alton and Velma (Conley) Stewart, she was a resident of Doylestown since 1987. Betty had ten years of service at the University of Akron and was a member of the Kenmore Church of Christ.  She volunteered at Barberton Citizens Hospital for 15 years and was also a member of Mother Singers in her earlier years. Her biggest joys were hosting holiday dinners, family vacations at the beach and her grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; sons, Gary and Jeff; brother, Norm Stewart; she is survived by her sons, Dave (Joyce) of New Franklin, Tim (Terri) of Akron, Ken of Doylestown; grandchildren, Deanna (Dan) Boggs, Josh (Denise) Holmes, Hillary (Kaleb) Harlow, Landan Holmes, Kathryne Rubright, Jacob Rubright, Amanda (Bryce) Cain, Adam Holmes, Austin Holmes, Samantha Holmes, Brooke Holmes, Abigail Holmes; 8 great grandchildren; daughter in-law, Mary Holmes; brother, Ed (Marti) Stewart; sister in-law, Norma Stewart; other family and friends

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home,132 N.
