Billy "Bill" J. Kennedy

BARBERTON – Billy “Bill” J. Kennedy, age 89, passed away on February 8, 2025.

Born in Barberton on July 13, 1935 to the late Darwin and Mabel (Neal) Kennedy, Bill had been a life resident of Barberton. A graduate of Norton High School, Bill served in the United States Marines (Semper Fi) and then went on to retire from Babcock & Wilcox after 30+ years.  After retirement, he had worked as a crossing guard for Barberton public schools for 15 years. Bill attended the Doylestown United Methodist Church and loved to spend time golfing with his buddies from B&W.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Darwin “Buzz” Kennedy; sister, Iris Nott; and stepdaughter, Monica (Marty) Zelei; step-great-grandchild, Daegen Rhys Turner. Bill is survived by his wife of 33 years, Charlotte G. (Lepley) Kennedy; children, David (Karen) Kennedy, Brenda (Joe) Hlas, and Sue (Greg) George, all of Norton; step-daughter, Susan (Greg) Wahrle of Marana, AZ; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and one on the way; three step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
