Loving Memory of Bonita Louise Roberts
October 12, 1948 – February 2, 2025
Bonita (Bonnie) Louise Roberts, 76, of Doylestown, Ohio, sadly passed away on February 2, 2025 after a courageous and enduring battle with illness. In her departure, the world lost a beacon of light who will always be remembered as a loving parent, caring spouse and faithful friend. Bonnie faced life’s challenges fearlessly, with the same spirit of resilience, optimism and determination that defined her final days on earth.
Born on October 12, 1948, Bonnie remained a lifelong resident of Doylestown. As a staple of the community, she built an independent life abundant in vibrance and zest. A proud graduate of Chippewa High School’s Class of 1967, she shined as lead majorette and played in the school band, showcasing her many creative talents.
Highlighting her sense of commitment, for 30 years Bonnie proudly served as a member of the United States Postal Service. Through ambition and persistence, she climbed the leadership ranks to become Manager of the Norton Branch and Superintendent of Postal Operations in Barberton.
Despite a steadfast commitment to career excellence, Bonnie always found time for the ones she loved. She never lost track of those she called friends, staying in touch with them throughout the years and preserving her closest bonds for more than seven decades.
It is those moments when she opened her life to us that will forever make her our own - the times we spent on a road trip; the afternoons we spent in her garden; the occasions we received a homemade card; the days we were graced by her laughter. For the difference your life made here on our earth, for the impression you made on those you loved, for the wonderful legacy you built, no two words are better than Thank You.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, April; her parents, George and Dorothy Roberts; her sisters, Alma, Dolores, Phyllis, and Shirley; and her brothers, Larry, Donald, and Kenny.
She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 35 years, Woodrow Roberts; her brother, David Roberts, and his special companion, Pat Mull; and her sister-in-law, Nina. She also leaves behind her loving stepdaughters, Jennifer Roberts of Canal Fulton, Ohio, and Heather Turton (Kyrle) of Orlando, Florida as well as dozens of nieces and nephews. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren, Clay, Peyton, and KJ, who will carry her love and strength with them always.
The family would like to thank the men and women of the Chippewa Township Fire Dept. for their help and compassionate care of Bonnie.
Per her wishes, she will be cremated, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
