Carl H. Bohn Jr.

WADSWORTH – Carl H. Bohn Jr., age 90, passed away on September 18, 2024.

Born on January 29, 1934 in Akron, OH to the late Carl H. Bohn Sr. and Helen (Neese) Bohn, he had been a resident of Wadsworth for 27 years, previously of Clinton. Carl served in the United States Navy and later obtained a master’s in education from the University of Akron. He retired from the Springfield Township School District in Akron after 25 years as a science teacher. Carl loved geology and still spoke with many of his former students.  If were to have met Carl, you probably went home with a rock.  An active member of Wadsworth United Methodist Church, he was involved in many church functions.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Sara (nee Spradlin); son, Robert “Bob” Bohn; and brother, John D. (Felicia) Bohn. Carl is survived by his daughter, Sara Lynne Sharp of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Kaitlin Sharp, Grace (Patrick) Beargie, and Thomas Bohn; 2 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Barbara Bohn; many other family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Wadsworth United Methodist Church, 195 Broad, Wadsworth, OH 44281 with Pastor Hyun-Suk Kim, officiating.  A private inurnment with military honors will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wadsworth United Methodist Church.
