Carol J. Cleckner

RITTMAN – Carol J. Cleckner, age 87, passed away on July 6, 2021.

Born on March 25, 1934 in Barberton, OH to the late George and Geneva (McKee) McKiernan, she was a resident of Rittman for 60 years.  Carol had worked in her early years at Petits Poultry, then assisted her husband with the daily operations of Cleckner’s Diner in Doylestown. After her children were grown, she managed the Quick Check store in Rittman. Carol was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where she was active in the choir and the handbell choir.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wayne E. in 2002; brothers, Hank and Richard McKiernan, she is survived by her daughter, Cindy Cleckner (Chris Check) of Strongsville, OH; sons, Dennis Cleckner and Randy Cleckner, both of Clinton, TN; grandchildren, Stephanie (Joe) Patterson, Kyle (Chase) Harvey, Bree Cleckner, Casey Cleckner (Kelsey Jones), Logan Cleckner (Fiancée Linzie Mainor); great grandchildren, Hanna, Emma, Lane, Trent, Rowan, and Lilly; sister, Denise McKiernan-Cowart-Beardslee of Tampa, FL; David Buchwalter (Toni) of Rittman, OH;  nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 12, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Doylestown, OH with Pastor, Jane Mokren, officiating.  Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church, 65 W.
