Carol A. Farriss

DALTON – Carol A. Farriss (nee Myers), age 88, passed away on April 27, 2024.

Born on June 4, 1935 in Akron to the late Gail and Beatrice (Vermillion) Myers, Carol had been a resident of Dalton since 1963. She was employed as a secretary at Firestone Tire and Rubber early in her life and went on to accompany her husband, William, in running the family farm. A past member of Dalton United Methodist Church; Carol sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and was a member of the Methodist Women’s Bible Study. She was a current member of Cornerstone Community Church, had been a leader with Big 4 (4H Club) and an advisor for the Dalton Stitch & Chatter 4-H club.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Gail V. Myers; great grandson, Jenson Hodge. Carol is survived by her husband of 67 years, William; sons, Todd (Myrna) Farriss and W. Alan Farriss all of Dalton; daughter, Teri (Jerry) Weaver of North Lawrence; grandchildren, Heidi (Jared) Pine, Trisha (Joshua) Hodge, Adrian Dixon, Tad Weaver (fiancé Danielle Itzkowitz), Johanna (Caleb) Riggs, Jae Weaver (fiancé Truman Karczewski) Austin Farriss, Cole Farriss (fiancé Shayla Raff), Devyn Farriss (John Spratt) and Zoey Farriss; 7 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Joan Myers of Arizona; beloved cousin, Bob (Sue) Myers; nephews, other family, and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at Cornerstone Community Church, 18600 Davis Rd., Dalton, OH 44618, with Pastor Shane Johnson officiating. Calling hours will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A private inurnment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cornerstone Community Church or Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH, 44691.
