Carol J. Kuhlins

MASSILLON - Carol Jean (Barnes) Kuhlins, aged 85, passed away on November 11, 2025.

Born on January 18, 1940 in Massillon, OH to the late William and Agnes (Miller) Barnes, she was a 1958 graduate of Massillon Washington High School and resident of Dalton and Tuscarawas Township. She always seemed to be happiest when her mind was engaged with some form of meaningful labor and she proved this at her places of employment which included the J.M. Smucker Company, Dalton Equity, Sixteen St. John’s Church, Peoples Cartage, Tuscarawas Township, Tuslaw Schools, her beloved Lanewood Acres Boarding Stable and finally the RJ Mathews Company.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by siblings, William (Billy) Barnes, Bernice Royer, Donald Barnes, Robert (Buster) Barnes and Betty Klein.  She is survived by her husband of 66 years, William (Bill) Kuhlins, her children, David (Sharon) Kuhlins, Sandy (Tim) Jordan and Connie (Bob) Masters. Carol’s grandchildren include Zack (Ally) Kuhlins, Jacob (Boot) Kuhlins, Brady Jordan, Hallie Jordan, Kylie Masters and Morgan Masters. 

A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025 beginning at 11:30 AM at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 29 E. Main St., Dalton, OH, 44618. Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until time of service to be conducted by Pastor Bob Edinger of 3:16 Church. Following the service Carol will be laid to rest at Sixteen Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to 3:16 Church, 1588 Manchester Road, North Lawrence, Ohio 44666.
