DOYLESTOWN – Charles H. “Charlie” Ross, age 92, passed away on July 30, 2024.
Born on January 22, 1932 in Akron, OH to the late Lynn and Grace (White) Ross, he was a lifelong resident of Doylestown. A veteran of the Korean War serving with the U.S. Army, Charlie retired from Babcock and Wilcox Co. in 1991 with 40 years of service. A member of Southwest Church of Christ and most recently Columbia United Church of Christ, Charlie enjoyed woodworking, gardening, being a member of the DAV Wayne County Chapter 44, the Doylestown Garden Club, and helping out family, friends, and veterans.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of almost 50 years, Esther; brothers, Edwin (Alberta) Ross, Russell Ross; loving companion and friend of almost 24 years, Helen Helmick. He is survived by his children, Dianna (John) Hatfield of Marshallville, Gene (Cathy) Ross of Canal Fulton, David (Sue) Ross of Wooster, Barbara Trivett of Doylestown; grandchildren, Susan (Todd) Bromley, Jason (Renee’)Hatfield, Gavin Ross (Tim), Hillary (Kaleb) Harlow, Mason (Olivia) Ross, Landan (Tristan) Holmes; great grandchildren, Garrett (Kayla) Bromley, Wyatt (Natalie) Bromley, Jacob and Anderson Hatfield, Audynn Harlow and Baron Holmes; great-great grandson, Rhett; many nieces and nephews; loving friend and companion, Betty Bloss.
A private service will be held by the family with interment and military honors at Chestnut Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Doylestown Garden Club, Summa Hospice, or DAV Wayne County Chapter 44. Online obituary and guest registry are available at www.zakmonbarrenfh.com
