DALTON – Cloanna L. Raines, age 84, passed away on May 7, 2024.
Born on October 9, 1939 in Hewett, WV to the late Clifford and Sylvia M. (Hager) Ball, she was a resident of Dalton for 12 years, previously of Massillon. Cloanna retired as a cook from Brewster Park and had previously worked with Meadow Wind Health Care. She had a passion for gardening, and also enjoyed working with her flowers and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; brother, Dean Ball; sisters, Dottie (Michael) Gibson, Linda Ferrell; brother-in-law, Joe Fowler; sister-in-law, Margaret Ball. She is survived by her children, Michael (Anna) Raines of Dalton, Eric (Lisa) Raines of Smithville, Alisha Shilling of Massillon; grandchildren, Brittany (Randy) Moore, Kayla (Joshua) Bevington, Quentin (Natasha) Raines, Noah (Kelly) Raines, Aubrey Raines, Nathan and Luke Raines; great grandchildren, Lane and Bowan Moore, Nicholas and Theo Bevington, Quaid and Otto Raines, Sadie and McKenna Raines; brothers, Leslie Ball of TN, Roy Ball, Leon (Marlene) Ball; sisters, Brenda Fowler, Joy Ball all of WV; sister-in-law, Janice Ball of WV; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024 at 7 p.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 29 East Main St., Dalton, OH, 44618 with Pastor Doug Wilcox, officiating. Calling hours will be from 5:30 p.m. until time of service. Inurnment will take place at a later date at the Ball Cemetery in Hewett, WV.
