Cynthia "Cindy" Berger Obituary

CUYAHOGA FALLS – Cynthia “Cindy” K. Berger, age 76, passed away on July 29, 2025.

Cindy was born on April 24, 1949, in Barberton, Ohio, to the late David and Beatrice (Rafeld) Gribble. She grew up in Norton, graduating from Norton High School in 1967, and made her home in Cuyahoga Falls for the past 53 years.

She spent her entire working life in the grocery industry, beginning at Kroger until its closing and later retiring from Giant Eagle. She was a proud member of the Retail Clerks Union throughout her career. At Giant Eagle, she worked at the customer service desk, where her warm smile and kind nature touched countless shoppers, brightening their days and improving their lives in small but meaningful ways.

Cindy enjoyed reading and working on word puzzles, and she had a creative spirit that shone through in the many hand‑crafted gifts she lovingly made for her family. She delighted in garage sales, collecting unique treasures, and decorating her home and especially her front porch to celebrate each season and holiday. Most of all, Cindy was happiest when surrounded by her family. Many treasured memories were made in her home, especially at Christmastime—baking cookies together and gathering for her much‑loved Christmas breakfast.

Cindy was a thoughtful and caring person, known for always remembering birthdays and anniversaries with a heartfelt card or a meaningful gift. She was hard‑working and selfless, often sacrificing to support her family and always encouraging their endeavors. A natural peacemaker, Cindy valued harmony, did her best to prevent conflicts, and was quick to mend fences so life could move forward. She was deeply loving, taking genuine interest in the lives and concerns of her family and friends. Cindy also loved to laugh and to share in heartwarming stories, bringing joy to those around her. Her kindness, her warm and peaceful presence, and her loving hugs will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother‑in‑law, Robert Querry. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Arthur; son, Andrew D. (Sandrine) Pal of Nantes, France; grandchildren, Dorian and Rosalie; sister, Connie Querry of Montrose; niece, Kim (Jack) Kohl of Norton; along with other cherished family and friends.
