Obituary
Wadsworth – Cynthia “Cindy” E. Goerndt (nee, Gerwig), age 73, passed away on January 6, 2023.
Born on February 3, 1949 in Cleveland to the late Clarence H. and Ruth (Zoeller) Gerwig, she was a resident of Wadsworth since 2017 previously of Cleveland. Cindy had been employed by the Cleveland Clinic as a medical secretary and loved spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her nephew, David (Cheri) Gerwig of Doylestown, OH and their sons, Austin Gerwig and Tyler (Kalie) Gerwig and son, Owen; nieces, Maxine Matovic of Parma Heights, OH, Kelly (Kurt) Waite of Brook Park, OH and her daughter, Jenna Luiere. In addition to her parents, Cindy is preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. Goerndt; brothers, John E. Gerwig and Clarence “George” Gerwig Jr.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, OH 44230 with Pastor Rod Grabski, officiating. Burial to take place at Nankin Cemetery in Nankin, OH at a later date. Calling hours will be Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
