David D. Lawson

NORTON – David D. Lawson, age 75, passed away on June 17, 2026 after a period of declining health.

He was born on December 23, 1950 in Barberton, OH to the late Dana and Sybil (Thompson) Lawson.  A graduate of Barberton High School, David was a life resident of the Barberton / Norton area and retired as a ground’s keeper from Spring Hills Golf Course after many years of service.  He had a passion for music.  A bass player himself, he was in a band in high school called the Sabers and then went on to form another band called the Lawson Brothers in his earlier years.

David is survived by his wife of 48 years, Darlene; sons, Dana Lawson (Carrie Zentiska) of Barberton, Gregory Lawson (Ashlee Wickiser) of Norton; grandsons, Tristan, Skyler, and Aden; brothers-in-law, David (Irene) Sears, Lowell Sears; sisters-in-law, Donna Stine, Sherry (Rick) Bechter; other family and friends.
