DOYLESTOWN – David A. Nagy, age 88, passed away on September 13, 2024.
Born in Barberton, OH to the late Julius and Kathryn (Szilagyi) Nagy, Dave grew up on the family farm in Copley and then moved to Kenmore, Barberton, and then resided in Doylestown since 1959. Dave was a machinist by trade and started repairing cars in the garage of his house in 1972. He became founder and owner of Nagy’s Body Shop in 1973 which he operated until his retirement when he passed the business on to his sons. He was a member of Grace Church in Norton, the ASA (Automotive Service Association), and various car clubs.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Zolton Bako. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 66 years, Kathleen and his children, Debbie Nagy, Sandy (Ron) Stebly, Lorie (Dave) Purdy, Ron (Kris) Nagy, Dan (Karen) Nagy, Kendra (Jack) Gay all of Doylestown; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brothers, Richard (Donna) Nagy, Denny (Betty) Nagy, Gary (Donna) Nagy; sisters, Bonnie Bako, Sharon (Bert) Recklaw; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Pleasant View Health Care and Summa Barberton Hospice for their compassionate care of Dave.
A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Grace Church, Norton Campus, 3970 S. Cleveland Massillon Rd., Norton, OH, 44203 with Pastor Dan Gregory officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Summa Hospice & Palliative Care at Summa Barberton, 141 N. Forge St. Akron, OH 44304 or The Doylestown Community Food Cupboard, 153 Church St., Doylestown, OH, 44230, or the Grace Church Choir at the Norton Campus.
