DOYLESTOWN – David H. Watson, age 74, passed away on January 21, 2021 surrounded by family.
Born on August 10, 1946 in Akron, OH to the late Marion H. and Martha (Leedom) Watson, he was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the U.S Air Force as a jet engine mechanic. Dave was a resident of Doylestown for over 20 years and had lived in Cairo, WV from 2006 until 2019. Retiring from Reiter Dairy in Akron, he had been a policeman for Beech City, OH and was owner of Watson Investigation Services for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking. After his retirement, he and his wife Carol worked together at North Bend State Park during their time spent in WV.
Preceded in death by his infant daughter, Sarah; father in-law, Gerald “Bud” Stiles, he is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carol; children, Dawn Rios of Akron, David Watson Jr. of Doylestown, Jennifer (Jason) Schmolt of Doylestown, John (Amanda) Watson of Chatham, IL; 10 grandchildren, a great granddaughter; brothers, John Watson of Deerfield, OH, Tom (Robin) Watson of Marlboro, Twp.; sisters, Shirley (Bob) Yeargin of Deerfield, Deborah (Jim) Ratliff of Monroe, NC; mother in-law, Catherine Stiles of Rootstown, numerous brothers in-law, sisters in-law, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. at the Doylestown United Methodist Church, 153 Church St., Doylestown, OH 44230. Private interment with military honors will be held at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
