DOYLESTOWN – Dennis “Denny” J. Toth, age 83, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away on June 11, 2025.
Born in Barberton, OH on October 18, 1941 to the late Gay and Julia (Leksan) Toth, Denny had been a resident of Doylestown for 60 years. A 1959 graduate of Barberton High School, he served in the US Army National Guard and went on to earn a degree from the University of Akron. He retired from Babcock & Wilcox after 40 years and had also served as a Chippewa Township Trustee. Denny was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. He was a member of the Doylestown Lions Club for 50 years and served as parade chairman for 25 years. Denny’s priority was spending time with his family. A former little league baseball coach, Denny was an avid golfer and loved spending time with his golf buddies. He loved sports, especially the Ohio State Buckeyes, Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Cleveland Indians.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Gabriel “Skip” Toth. Denny is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley (Hajek) Toth; sons, Brian (Dana) of Wadsworth, Greg (Carrie) of Elm Grove, WI, and Mark (Renee) Toth of Akron; grandchildren, Matthew, Drew, Gage, Kadin, Katelyn, and Lauren; many friends and other family members.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Douglas Wenger, Dr. Andrew Haas, Akron General Hospice, Coach Brent Swartzentruber, and caregiver, Angie Booth for their loving and compassionate care of Denny.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, June 20, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 161 W. Clinton St., Doylestown, OH, 44230 with Fr. Peter Morris, Celebrant. Burial to follow at Chestnut Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, OH, 44230. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, the Doylestown Lions Club, or the Doylestown Community Food Cupboard.
