DOYLESTOWN – Donald G. Wiese, age 82, passed away unexpectedly on December 10, 2021.
Born on December 21, 1938 in Akron to the late George and Geraldine (Jones) Wiese, he was a resident of Doylestown for 47 years, previously of Akron. Don had been the president of Wiese Plumbing and Heating from 1982, taking over from his father, until his retirement. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves, a long-time member of the Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors (PHCC), and a life-time member of St. John/St. Paul Lutheran Church. Don loved to travel in his motor home and visit family. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and was an avid sports fan of all Ohio teams.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Gloria, and brother, James Wiese. He is survived by his son, Brian Wiese of Doylestown; daughter, Tiffany (Jim) Rafferty of Katy, TX; grandchildren, Brianna, Matthew, Rachel and Daniel; great grandchildren, Amelia and Ryker; sister, Edna (Tom) Wake of GA; sisters in-laws, Bonnie Wiese of Norton and Carole Nelson of Hollywood, FL; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, OH 44230 with Pastor Robert Webb, officiating. Burial to take place at Chestnut Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
