Doris M. McComas

RITTMAN – Doris M. McComas, age 77, passed away on January 31, 2026.

Born on March 14, 1948 in Wadsworth, OH to the late Otto and Ruth (Brumfield) Perry, she was a lifelong resident of Rittman.  A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she had worked for a number of years at Akron Porcelain and Plastics and was previously with Hawkins Market in Medina. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Howard “Ron” McComas; grandson, Jared Hopkins; great grandchildren Sophia, and Ariel Karides; brothers, Dudley Wilson, Don Perry; sister, Sharon “Sue” Perry.  She is survived by her children, Howard II (Sharla) McComas of Rittman, Ann (Robert Bryon) Hopkins of Doylestown; grandchildren, Alexandrea (John) Karides, Zachary McComas, Hannah (Shane) Merrick; great grandchildren, Carson and Ashton Merrick; sisters, Wilma Kamer of KS, Lois (Don) Douglas of GA; brother, Oscar (Betty) Perry of Portsmouth, OH; nieces, nephews, lifelong friend, Joyce Wilderman as well as other family and friends.

A committal service will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 12:15 p.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Seville, OH, 44273 with Pastor Kevin Fath, officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jared’s Golden Heart, P.O.
