CANTON – Edith L. “Dee” Chatto, age 83, passed away on December 26, 2025.
Born on December 16, 1942 in Cleveland, OH to the late Ernest and Henrietta (Tyson) Green, she was a graduate of John Adams High School. Coming home to Canton in October of 2025 to receive continual care from her family, Dee and John were permanent residents of Little Willy’s RV Park in Arcadia, FL since 2020 and were snowbirds there from 2015 to 2020. They had previously resided in Canton, Glendora, CA, and Doylestown, OH. Dee had retired from the office of Dr. Davis in 2004 and had previously worked as an LPN at Arcadia Methodist Hospital.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Edward; sisters, Ashley (David) Lewis, Maxine (Jack) Lister; brother-in-law, Robert “Bob” Dort. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, John J.; children, John C. Chatto of Powell, OH, Deanne Parker (John Grattino) of Montville, OH, Debbie (Rich) Wightman of Canton; grandchildren, Caitlin (Stephen) Herman, Keira (Mitch) Petroff, Craig (Amaya) Miller, Jamie (Amanda) Edwards, Rebecca Parker, Rich Wightman, and Lilly Wightman; great granddaughter, Aria; sister, Patricia Dort of Parish, FL; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 4 p.m. at Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, OH 44230 with Chaplain Billy Kremer, officiating. Calling hours will be from 2 p.m. until time of service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any local food pantry of your choosing.
